Silma Compact 8

(1962)

The Silma Compact 8 was the first Silma projector. It dates back at least to 1962 (see manual text further below). At the 1960 Photokina in Cologne a prototype was introduced as the Filma Compact 8. Possibly it was already marketed in 1961 either as Filma or as Silma. However,  there is no clear information that a Filma projector had ever been marketed.

The Silma Compact 8 was also sold as the Revue 8. The Silma was rebranded to Revue for Foto-Quelle, a large German retailer of camera and photographic equipment.
