The Silma Sound/Silma Sound 2 seems to be the transition from the Cirse Sound 2 to the Silma240S. It was made in de Silma factory in Rivoli whereas the Cirse Sound 2 was made at via Cavour 47 in Torino. This projector is identified by "Silma" on the identification plate and "Cirse Sound 2" or just "Sound 2" on the control panel. Technically they are similar to the Silma 240S.
Silma Sound 2
(1965)
Silma Sound 2 is a collective name for Silma duplicates of the Cirse Sound 2. In some adverts its is referred to as just Silma Sound (without '2') which is confusing because that was the pre-production name for the Silma Sonik 8. The later versions were called Silma 240S and Silma 250S.

Below are the Cirse Sound 2 and its Silma look-alikes. According to the ID plates (see below), the Cirse was made in Torino whereas the Silma's were made in Rivoli. It is strange that the Cirse was not made in the new and modern Silma factory in Rivoli. Or it was made in Rivoli but for some reason they put Torino on the ID plate. Who knows?
The Silma Sound 2 was marketed some 4 months after the Cirse Sound 2 from which it was derived. It was identical with the Cirse, both were only available as standard 8mm projectors.

Again, some four months later '240S' was added to the name Silma Sound 2. On the projector or the manual it was just called 240S. Only in adverts it was sometimes referred to as the Silma Sound 2 240S. Around a year later the 240S would also be available as super 8mm projector.

Below is a test report of the Prinz Compere Super 8 which is nothing more than a rebadged Silma 240S Super 8. The Prinz was just like the Silma available in standard 8 and super 8. The test report is from Movie Maker, November 1968.

The Silma 250S standard 8mm and super 8mm were marketed at the end 1967. The 250S was mainly sold as super 8. The standard 8 is quite rare.

Later versions of the Silma 250S had a 12v 100w dichroic halogen lamp (see image below) whereas earlier models had a 12v 100w bipin halogen lamp.
