Silma
Silma was an Italian film projector manufacturer. It was established in 1959 by Canelli and Salino, the owners of Cirse. Initially it was called Filma. Because of a legal dispute they could not use the Filma brand for its projectors so they decided to use Silma as their brand. For more information, see the History page.

This website only includes Silma projector models that were designed, developed or marketed before the takeover by Bosch/Bauer in 1969. These models can easily be recognised by the Silma brandmark on the projector body, the case, the packing box and/or the manual. The Silma projectors from the Bosch/Bauer generation such as the S111 and S112 no longer used this brandmark (actually a Filma brandmark).

Below are two 'gems' from Silma with the Sonik 8 being Silma's absolute flagship despite its tube amplifier and its limited reel capacity of 120 mtr-400 ft. The Sonik 8 was 1.6 times more expensive than the 240S.

Logo's can be an indicator of the period of introduction of the different Silma projectors. The first logo is a reconstruction of the logo on the ID-plate of the Sonik 8 shown on the Filma page which is unique because it clearly shows an 'F' instead of an 'S'.
